5 Steps To A Shimmering Sink Refinish

When it comes to the sink refinishing process, there are five basic steps. 

1. Acid etch. Our eco-friendly etch creates a uniform bonding area for your porcelain. This is so that we can properly adhere the primer coatings. 

2. Fill in the cracks. Chips are filled with fiberglass gel and sanded  smooth. It is crucial to perform proper surface repair in order to create a shimmering sink refinish. Thus, we ensure that this will be a watertight sink finish masterpiece.

3. Mask off area. As a preliminary precaution, an important step is masking off the project area. Our workspaces are clean, tidy, and efficient.

Conquering Cracks 101 

101 is a simple as our 1–5 step fiberglass tub fixing process.

Prep. First, we remove all caulking and loose debris. This allows for tighter adhesion. By sanding and utility knives, we precisely keep the surface as smooth as possible.

Repair.  We were challenged with repair of structural issues. Certainly, this tub cracked because of a deteriorated cement base under the tub. So, we created a cement support to bolster the stability. Then, we applied out industrial strength filler and sanded it smooth with a high speed grinder.

Fixing The Fiberglass

Etching. For the sake of bonding, we etch the shower surface with an eco-friendly stain. Thus, this achieves a porous surface to which the final sealer bonded, producing a watertight seal. This important step in fixing fiberglass tubs is performed with care.

Primer and Coating. Fourth, multiple coats of waterproofing paint sealer are applied. As a result, this step gives our customers their "like new" shower!

Priming creates bond and level surface.

Do you have a once beautiful old claw foot bathtub? Maybe it was passed on to you from your family mansion back east. Perhaps you moved into an ol' fixer up'er that needed some loving care – and it came with the house? Claw Foot Tub Refinish – The Solution

Gunk Removal. As you can see, this bathtub is stained on the inside, with a gross black film. Not only that, but the porcelain was also scratched up from years of use.

Outside. At Tuff Tubs, we are not only professionals, but craftsmen. This claw foot tub refinish had green paint on outside. We stripped that off, then sanded it down. In order to retain the rustic appearance, we did not make it fully smooth. We excite our customers with beautiful and nostalgic looking products.

Back to the inside scoop. On the inside, we primed and sprayed with Napco Brite White, high gloss, polyurethane resin. This industry grade product allows the tub surface to last for years and years. The resin gives it strength and makes it watertight. Hi-gloss for a glowing and sudsy experience. And all our products are eco-friendly!

Final Touches. Lastly, the outside and claw feet were sprayed with Napco Brite White low gloss. A winning combo!
